I know this is obvious, but there is something special about a going to a nice restaurant. It might seem a little bit silly to you, but one of my favorite parts of the whole experience is sitting on a nice stool. There is just something so sophisticated and nice about sitting on really nicely constructed bar stools that I’ve always enjoyed.
The thing is, these days every one of us is trying to save as much money as possible and eating out at a beautiful restaurant is becoming a more and more unusual experience for a night out. So, a lot of us are trying to create that restaurant feeling in our home, in any way we can. Cooking really special meals, watching cooking programs on cable to try and cook more and more like a real celebrity chef — since we obviously can’t afford to actuality eat at a celebrity chef’s restaurant very often…all of that. Plus, trying to recreate restaurant decor and furniture in our houses as much as we can. And that brings me right back to the bar stools that I think are so cool.
Here’s an example of what I mean.
Simple and elegant — and somehow sitting in it makes you look prettier. They’re also great if you have a breakfast nook or bar in your home and can buy a set of them. It’s fun to play chef while people are sitting in front of you. Sort of like the friendliest audience in the world that a not-so-celebrity chef could possibly enjoy.
Just for fun, here’s one more.
This one looks comfortable, with the nice cushion, but it also has the beauty of the wood and a slightly unusual shape. I like bar stools that really stand out and kind of tell a different story.
